Files App

As you get things done with Timebook, the Files App becomes the central storage place for all your files.

Upload files of various types from your device or from your Google Drive. You can then share these files with other users of Timebook or reuse them in different contexts. Upload your data to the Files App and turn it into attachments (in Calendar or Tasks) or display it in widgets for easier collaboration. Files App also lets you check all the places in Timebook where your files are referenced.

Upload your files

To add files to your Timebook collection:

  1. Press [+ New file] in the top right corner.

  2. On the resulting pop-up, select the location from which you want to upload the files: [Google Drive] or [Your device].

  3. Choose a number of files you want to upload and confirm your selection.

  4. The selected files are now available in your Files App.

You can also drag a file from your desktop and drop it on the Files App to start the upload process. Or you can use the traditional “copy/paste” method using keyboard shortcuts.

You can upload files with the following extensions:

  • Documents: doc, docx, html, htm, odt, pdf, xls, xlsx, ods, ppt, pptx, txt

  • Images: jpeg, jpg, jfif, pjpeg, pjp, avif, gif, apng, png, svg, bmp, ico, cur, tif, tiff, webp

  • Archive files: tar.bz2, tar.gz, rar, zip, zipx, 7z, tar, gz

Navigation & file options

The File App is actually a list of all the files you store in Timebook enhanced with several options to manage these files. Use the [View switcher] in the top-right corner to change how your files are displayed:

  • Table view
This is a clear, top-to-bottom display of your files. They are sorted by their upload date and there is an icon next to each file marking its type. There is a [Meatballs] icon to the right of each file, containing a list of all available options.

  • Gallery view
This view displays your files in the form of tiles. Each tile shows a preview of the file, its name, and the file type. The [Meatballs] menu, with all available options, is located in the bottom-right corner of each tile.

As for the file options, use the [Meatballs] menu to either:

  • [Download] a file to your device,

  • [Rename] your files,

  • [Delete] them from Timebook storage,

  • check [File Details] like the creation and last modification dates

Also, see Share files and View reference for additional file options.

Regardless of the view you choose, you can always filter your files. Use the [Filter] icon in the top-right corner of the Files App to show only documents, images, or archive files.

Finally, you can use the [Search] icon to browse your files by their name or extension.
